UGC brief templates for product videos
A brief is one or two sentences. Choose your kind of product, start from an example, and post it.
Apps & software
- Brief template for a budgeting app Ask for a screen recording of one task from start to finish, with the creator's voice over it. One task shown well is better than a tour of every screen.
- Brief template for a booking tool for hair salons Say who uses the tool, so a creator who knows that work answers. Ask them to show the problem first, and then the one screen that solves it.
- Brief template for a browser extension that blocks distracting sites Ask the creator to install it on camera, so the buyer sees how short that is. Then ask for the same page with the extension off and on.
- Brief template for a video editor for Mac Say if it runs on Mac or on Windows, so the creator can run it. Ask for a real piece of work made with it, from the empty file to the result.
- Brief template for an online course on photo editing Ask the creator to take one lesson and to show what they made after it. Give access to the whole course, and say which lessons the video may show.
- Brief template for a Notion template for planning the week An empty template shows nothing. Ask the creator to fill it with their own week, on screen. Say which program the buyer needs to open it.
Beauty & skincare
- Brief template for a vitamin C serum Ask the creator to show the texture on skin, and to say where the serum goes in the routine. A serum ad that only shows the bottle tells nothing.
- Brief template for a daily moisturizer Ask for skin before and after one use, in the same light. Say the skin type the cream is for, so the right creator answers.
- Brief template for an SPF 50 sunscreen The two worries are a white cast and a greasy feel. Ask the creator to show both on camera, outdoors if possible. Do not ask for claims about sun protection that your label does not make.
- Brief template for a gentle face cleanser A cleanser is hard to show. Ask for the lather, the rinse, and the skin right after. A night routine works better than a product shot.
- Brief template for a clay face mask A mask is the easiest product to film, because the face changes. Ask for putting it on, waiting, and taking it off, cut short.
- Brief template for a cream blush Say the shades you will send and the skin tones you want to show. Ask for the product going on in real time, not only the finished look.
- Brief template for a leave-in hair mask Say the hair type the product is for. Ask for the hair before, the product going in, and the hair dry, in the same light.
- Brief template for an eau de parfum Nobody can smell a video. Ask the creator to say what it smells like, when they wear it, and how long it stays.
Fashion & accessories
- Brief template for a printed cotton t-shirt Ask the creator to wear it, move in it, and show the print up close. Ask them to say their height and the size they wear, so a buyer can judge the fit.
- Brief template for a linen summer dress Ask for the dress on the body, from the front, the side, and the back, while the creator walks. Ask them to say their height and the size they wear.
- Brief template for a pair of leather shoes Ask for the shoes on the feet, walking, filmed from near the ground. Ask the creator to say if the size runs small or large.
- Brief template for a leather tote bag A photo does not tell the size of a bag. Ask the creator to carry it, and to put in what fits, like a book, a bottle, and keys.
- Brief template for a silver necklace Jewelry is small, so ask for close shots on the skin, in daylight. Ask for one shot of the whole outfit too, so the size is clear.
- Brief template for a steel watch Ask for the watch on the wrist, with a sleeve and without one. Ask the creator to show the clasp and how to adjust the strap.
- Brief template for an embroidered cap Ask for the cap on the head, from the front and from the side, and the embroidery up close. Ask the creator to show how the back adjusts.
- Brief template for a one-piece swimsuit Ask for the swimsuit on the body, in daylight, while the creator moves. Ad platforms have rules about how much skin an ad shows, so write in the brief what the video may show.
Finance & business
- Brief template for a budgeting app for couples Ask for a screen recording of one real task, such as adding an expense, with the creator's voice over it. Ask them to use sample numbers, not their own accounts.
- Brief template for a monthly bookkeeping service for small shops A service has nothing to hold. Ask the creator to tell what they did before, what they send you now, and what they get back each month. Give them a real sample report to show.
- Brief template for a tax filing service for freelancers Ask the creator to show the steps on screen, from the first question to the finished return, with sample data. Do not ask them to promise a refund or a saving.
- Brief template for a course on personal finance Ask the creator to take one lesson and tell one thing they learned from it. Ask them to show the lesson list, so people see what is inside.
- Brief template for a book about pricing for small businesses Ask the creator to read one idea from the book and say how they used it. A book held up to the camera says nothing.
- Brief template for a budget spreadsheet template Ask for a screen recording of the creator filling in the template from empty. Ask them to show the one sheet that people will open every week.
- Brief template for a coaching program for new shop owners Ask the creator to say who the program is for and what happens in one session. Do not ask them to promise sales or income.
- Brief template for a weekly newsletter about money Ask the creator to open one issue on screen and read the part they liked. Say how often it comes and what it costs, so nobody is surprised.
Fitness & wellness
- Brief template for a vegan protein powder The two worries are the taste and the lumps. Ask the creator to mix it on camera, drink it, and say what it tastes like.
- Brief template for a magnesium supplement Ask the creator to show when and how they take it in their day. Do not ask them to say that it treats, cures, or prevents anything.
- Brief template for a pair of gym leggings Ask for the clothes in a real workout, with a squat, a stretch, and a run. A buyer wants to know if the fabric stays in place and if it shows through.
- Brief template for a cork yoga mat Ask the creator to hold a pose where hands and feet slip on a bad mat. Ask them to roll it up and carry it, so the thickness and the weight are clear.
- Brief template for a set of resistance bands Ask for three exercises with good form, a few seconds each. Ask the creator to say which band they use for each one.
- Brief template for a compact massage gun Ask for the gun in use on a leg or a shoulder, with the real sound, because buyers ask how loud it is. Do not ask for claims about healing an injury.

- Brief template for a home workout plan Ask the creator to do one session from the plan, and to show the screen or the page they follow. Do not ask them to promise a result.
Food & drink
- Brief template for a cold brew coffee Ask the creator to make the coffee on camera, the way a buyer does at home. Ask them to say what it tastes like, because a bag or a bottle shows nothing.
- Brief template for a loose leaf green tea Ask for the leaves up close, the water going in, and the color in a clear cup. Ask the creator to say when in the day they drink it.
- Brief template for a habanero hot sauce Ask the creator to put the sauce on real food and eat it on camera. Ask them to say how hot it is next to a sauce that people know.
- Brief template for an oat and nut snack bar Ask the creator to open the bar, break it in two, and show the inside. Ask them to say where they eat it, like at the desk or after the gym.
- Brief template for a dark chocolate bar Ask for the sound of the bar when it breaks, and a close shot of the inside. Tell the creator to keep it cool, because melted chocolate looks bad on camera.
- Brief template for a taco spice mix A jar of spice shows nothing. Ask for one simple dish cooked with it, from the raw food to the plate, cut short.
- Brief template for a canned sparkling tea Ask for the can cold, the sound when it opens, and the drink in a glass, so the color shows. Ask the creator to say how sweet it is.
- Brief template for a bottle of red wine Ask for the bottle opened and poured at a table with food, and for the taste in plain words. The creator must be of legal drinking age, and the video must not show anyone drunk.
Gaming
- Brief template for a co-op puzzle game for PC Ask for real play that the creator records, with their voice and their reactions. Say which level or which moment to show, because the first minutes of a game are often the slowest.

- Brief template for a card game for four players Ask for a real round with other people at the table. Ask the creator to explain one turn in a few seconds, because people buy a game they understand.
- Brief template for a gaming chair with lumbar support Ask the creator to sit in it and to move every part that adjusts. Say the height and weight the chair is made for. Do not ask for claims about back pain.
- Brief template for a compact mechanical keyboard People want to hear it. Ask for the sound of typing with no music, and for the keys up close. Say which switches you will send.

- Brief template for a USB microphone for streaming Ask the creator to record their voice with their old microphone first, then with yours, in the same room. Ask for no filters on the sound.
Home & lifestyle

- Brief template for a linen bedding set Ask the creator to make the bed on camera and to touch the fabric up close. Ask for daylight, so the color is the real one.
- Brief template for a cast iron frying pan Ask the creator to cook one thing that sticks, like an egg, and to clean the pan after. Send the care rules first, so the video does not show a wrong use.
- Brief template for a handmade ceramic mug Ask for the mug in the hand, so the size is clear, and the glaze up close in daylight. A morning coffee at home works better than a product shot.
- Brief template for a rechargeable table lamp Ask for the lamp at night, off and then on, in a real room. If it has more than one level of light, ask the creator to show each one.
- Brief template for a washable cotton rug Ask for the rug in a room with furniture, so the size is clear, and a hand on it up close. If the rug is washable, ask the creator to wash it and show it after.

- Brief template for a craft kit for ages 5 and up Ask for what is in the box, the child making the piece, and the piece finished. Say how long it takes and how much help from an adult it needs, so the video promises no more than that.
Pets

- Brief template for a soft training treat for dogs Ask for the treat in the hand, so the size is clear, and the dog working for it. A short training moment shows more than the bag does.

Real estate & hotels
- Brief template for a two-bedroom apartment near the beach Ask the creator to walk through the home in one take, from the door to the last room, at the hour with the best light. Say which rooms to show first. Give the price and the size in writing, so the video says them right.
- Brief template for a furnished apartment for a year Ask the creator to show what a tenant asks about: the kitchen, the storage, the noise from the street, and the way to the nearest shop. Say if pets are allowed, so the video does not promise what you do not offer.

- Brief template for a phone tripod Ask the creator to set it up on camera, and then to show a clip filmed with it. The clip is the proof, more than the product.

- Brief template for a carry-on suitcase Ask the creator to pack it on camera for a real trip, and to show the wheels, the handle, and the inside. State only the measures on your product page, because each airline sets its own limits.
- Brief template for a travel adapter Ask for the product in use outside the home: a station, a train, a hotel room. Ask the creator to show how little space it takes in the bag.
